Where could I source some NLA edge guard sections for 300SD?

On my W126 300SD, there are these cushioning pieces on the interior that surround the door cut-outs of the body. They are called the edge guard sections, and they are basically rubber wrapped in fabric. They sit against the door panelling when the doors are closed but they are mounted actually on the body and not on the doors. I guess they act as cusions for door trim when they close and provide aesthetics as well as noise insulation...

What happened is that the fabric on a couple of these has torn, exposing the rubber underneath, and it isn't too pleasing when I open the passenger-side front and/or rear door. The parts catalog lists the following part numbers for the right rear and right front edge guard sections (need them in gray):

1266970251/gray
1266970451/gray

Trouble is, they are NLA (no longer available). I asked a few parts folks to look these up, including the Mercedes-Benz Dealer parts guy, but apparently MB does not make these any longer, and they can't even be ordered from Germany. The parts guy also said that his world-wide dealer network inventory does not show these in stock in ANY dealership.

Does any one here know of a way to source these rare pieces (other than a junk yard, of course)? Perhaps someone makes a duplicate of these parts for folks who are in the business of restoring older Benzes? Maybe anyone knows of a parts place they came across at some point that might have these laying around?

I'm counting that someone on here might know SOMEthing about this - otherwise I'm at a dead end of this search....

Are you searching for the rubber or the covering?

I've never seen any sources for the rubber, but I think World Upholstry has the covering. I'm planning to have an upholstry shop recover mine eventually. It is #262 on my list of things to do.

I hesitate to post this, because lots of people have had trouble with them. But Adsitco seems to have a source for oddball parts like this that nobody else can find.

Well, the fabric tore on top of the rubber... I don't think I can replace the fabric just by itself - it is somehow fixed on top of the rubber - either by glue or by sewing or something. The rubber underneath the fabric seems fine, though.

Yea, I might call Adsit and talk to them, even though I have read all the bad things people wrote about them over time...

Have you tried the MB Classic Center? I'd give them a call first and see what they say.

Other then that custom, anything can be made.

I called the MB Classic center... they said they can't source it either. Which is funny because when I bought the car a month ago, the previous owner gave me one of those things brand new in MB package... I gotta ask him where he's got it...
