Right at the firewall where the power brake assist is located, there are a number of different color tubes that have become disconected. Also a black poly tube about a foot long seems to have completely pulled out from where it was attached in or through the firewall. Another thin tube also pulled through. It is also about a foot long. BTW where is the manual cut off switch?

I can go snap a pic of mine for you if that'll help? I have removed all the emission crap but you should get the idea I think
The manual stop lever is on the IP, it's red and says STOP on it I recall. Right around the fourth injector.

A photo may help. I'll take any help I can get on this. Obviously I pulled some things apart so not only do I need to know where things go but I think I will also need some little tubes and hoses. I have found a few vac diagrams but they all seem a little incomplete-I'll study them some more. Any further tips on diagrams or should I bite the bullett and find a guy that can fix this?

I have found several diagrams for the vac system but none of them seem to be for my particular California car. Any tips on where I can get the right diagram? It seems most of the diagrams show the major components but often show open ends that are not completed to their end device.

there are one or in some cars two vent lines with open ends, They go to the atmosphere to vent some device on the engine and the theory MB had was to pull air from inside the car rather than under the hood where its probably dirty. The vent lines are always black.
There are two lines that go (went) to the yellow one way (check) valve and drive the CLS (central locking system) and control pods for the A/C. You may need to find a similar car and do an eyeball comparison. Now you know one reason some JiffyLubes mandated a NO MERCEDES DIESEL policy! they mucked up more than few cars and their insurance bought some new engines after the owners drove out and lost all the oil due to something the oil changer tech did wrong ![]() Your back is probably real tired from replacing the stand gasket, so just try some vac lines and see if you get it right, its the transmission vac line that some people accidentally yank loose (then you have neck wrenching shifts)

Vacuum " Schematics "... might help ya !
Although these are probably not all that you will need, why not try the following link and take a look at the vacuum diagrams:
http://www.peterschmid.com/ Go to the "Vacuum Schematics" menu entry in the left side of the Home Page... then year and model. These are for use in working on the tranny vacuum components and EGR. Sam |

I have been looking at the vac diagrams quite a bit. It looks as though my car has been connected a little bit diffferently than the diagrams-maybe by the previous owner. Also the engine diagrams do not seem to have info on connecting the door lock and the climate control stuff. I believe the 2 yellow are the door locks and the green/yellow are the climate control. I am not sure where to connect them to what tube in the engine compartment.
