apparantly so, the '86/'87 300D's use a NA36X.
The '95 S350D uses a NA35X and the E300D uses NA37X injectors.
I can't locate any info on the '99 (W210) injectors, but seriously think they are of a different style, as are glow plugs and everything else on later models
FWIW the NA37 is a lot longer looking than the 35 and 36. the opening pressure is also stamped in Bars on them somewhere and that differs as does the spray pattern I think, so substituting one for another might not be a good idea

603.96 injectors fire straight down. 603.97 injectors fire at a 15* angle or something like that. Because of this you should match injectors and prechambers, but I don't think this is a hard and fast rule. 603.96 prechambers have to be trimmed to fit a -17- or newer head. I don't know if you'll get a good seal using 603.97 prechambers in a -14- head.

So if I have a #22 head with newer prechambers should I have the 3.5L injectors?
