Right Hand Drive 5 speed

If I were able to get my hands on a right hand drive w123 5 speed, is it possible to re-fit it to work in a left hand drive car? I haven't seen it discussed here and I would assume it is possible but I don't really know. Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Best to have a LHD parts car but given that this is California, how about finding a suitable host for the engine and transmission?

You might need to keep it non-turbo if you want RHD. No room for the turbo with the steerng linkage on the right.

I'd think it would be far less work to transfer the title of that car to my name so you don't have to worry about it.

Finally... an idea more crazy than me putting a 5-speed in the 190D.

Seriously... nearly every junk yard I called asked "WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO DO THAT?"

I think having a RH drive benz would be very cool (except for toll booths).
