1984 300cd purchase
Hi.
I recently purchased a 1984 300cd which I bought in the US and imported to Canada. I was initially worried about the importation process, however it turned out to be real easy (the hardest part was paying out $900 at the Canadian border in various taxes and fees!). The car is in excellent shape no rust, original paint, 120,000 miles and cruises along nicely. It does have a couple of little problems I would like some advice on 1) The electric sunroof closes, however has to be cranked open, any ideas? 2) The hazard warning switch buzzes when switched on and doesn't activate the flashers. I guess i need a new switch in this case. Baz. |

congratulations on your purchase.
the sunroof sometimes will respond to cleaning and lubricating. there are also adjustments that can be made to the cables, but i have never done this so cannot offer advice on it. yes, it sounds like the hazard switch needs replacing. although i have on occasion monkeyed around with one and got it working with a little lubrication and contact cleaner. when i wanted to get a car on the road without waiting for a new one to come. tom w
