The foam between the grille and Hood
Hi gang,
Rag doll is out of the shop from paint, and I wanted to reinstall the hood. I removed the foam that was in between the grille and hood that was glued on when it went in for paint, and now im not sure what Im going to do. Fastlane has the mounting kit with all the fasteners, but I only need the foam. Another member here said his car didnt have that piece. Does anyone else have the foam or did they replace it when they replaced the hood? My guess is that its there to quell rattles and prevent vibrations from scratching the paint on the front of the hood where it attaches..... thanks in advance.... DUB Pics to follow of rag doll after wet sanding and buffing!

I think you're talking about a hood pad for your 83 300D?
You can purchase 1 for around $50 or so. Most are glued on using 3M 8090 adhesive. Do a search here under hood pad. |

I have a new hood pad. I'm talking about the foam piece (around 20" long and 1.5" wide) that has a self adhesive strip that glues to tne 'nose' of the hood. Then the grille mounts onto the 'nose' part.
