Cool Put in new shocks..

After the GTG, and the look under my car I realized I wanted a better ride and could do some constructive work on the car this summer..

MAN four new Boge shocks really made this a much better ride! Instead of being wallowey over bumps, its firm, without sacrificing the smooth ride. Much better than the $hitty Gabriels I put on the old 240D.

Next project is undercoating the chassis. I ordered some POR 15, and I really want to get to all the little areas under my car with this stuff. Not 100% sure how much I need, but it says a pint covers 25 square feet, so I figured that should be enough for at least the reverse sides of the rear quarter/trunk. If it works out nice, I can always bite the bullet and get more.

We'll have this bad boy up to snuff buy the time URI Fall 2006 rolls around..

Also car gets repainted on the week beggining July 17, to get rid of that orange peel/drips.

I'll definitely post pictures.

But WOW those shocks were a good investment...somewhat cheap too, ended up getting all four for around 135.

Yepper, little things mean a lot and can make a huge difference in the feel of the car! I was amazed at the before/after difference that flushing the power steering fluid and a new PS filter made....yes, you can feel the difference. Brake fluid flush, same thing. These cars respond well to rubbing!

Kyle, how long did that take if you don't mind me asking? Did you do it yourself or have an assistant?

You know, every time I see one of your posts I think of Marzilli's, the sandwich place in Fall River....I used to live there....I believe they make the best subs in the world for the price.

Yeah I just put two new Bilstiens on the front of my sd for a grand total of $109 and MAN did it make that car ride nice. It doesn't bog down in the front going around corners.

Hmm

I got the rear Boges for 49.95 each at "foreigncarpartsonline.com"

Yes, Marzillis does have an excellent grinder, as does their competitor Marcuccis. The debate of who makes a better grinder rages on till today in the Fall River area.

Yes, an assistant makes things MUCH easier. On the W115, it seems the shocks MUST be compressed to easily install. Took us about 1 hours for all four.
