Euro plates are awsome!

Just stuck a Euro plate on the front of the SDL, looks great! Worth the $10 I paid for it.

Technically its illegal in my area, but a few of my friends have had them for years and have not been bothered. So as long as they don't bother me its staying.

I'd really love to stick one on the rear, but thats pushing it!

I have seen a couple of cars here in NC with rear euro plates. I am assuming that they must have gotten them from the dmv, but not sure how that's possible. Even if they are legal here, I'd imagine it would be like a red target for cops in other states.

I'm looking for a good REAL german plate for my 79 euro, I think it would look good on the euro bumper. I've looked on ebay a little but I've got a lot of other work I still have to do before I worry about the small things.

Only a problem if you drive in a state with front plate laws. Georgia does not have the stupid front plates.

I was in the fortunate situation to bring my own. Illegal in NY, but cops never bothered me in four years.

I had Euro plates on the front that had the same characters as my state's plate... and I was stopped by some punk ass cop to be warned that next time I'd get an $80 fine I've driven thousands of miles with the plate on... through atleast 5 states, only to be busted 2 miles from home.

From my understanding, here in calif. You can have a euro plate or one of those decorative team sport plates on the front as long as your california license plate is below it or displayed in the front windsheild.

I have a custom made german plate i bought off ebay, enscirbed is RS (for my initials) and W124. With the my calif license plate in the corner where the mercedes sticker was normally located so the cops wont give me greif.

Ive seen some BMW's with the euro plates put in the rear behind the california plate. But then you dont get to see the numbers on the german plate.

Griots Garage sells real looking euro plates, for like $30 they will print whatever you want on it and you can chose the country of origin.

I don't know if mine is real or not, but it looks real. It has Stuttgart stickers on it, they certainly look legit.

California Vehicle Code Section 5200 states:
5200 When two licence plates are issued by the department (DMV) for use upon a vehicle, they shall be attached to the vehicle for which they are issued, one in the front and the other in the rear.

Whether this law is enforced or not depends on the area cops. In many cities and towns in California, this is considered to be so minor that cops just are too busy to even noticed. In others, you can be stopped and issued with a citation. My wife was driving three years with the front driver's and passenger's windows slightly tinted (which is illegal in many areas) and nothing happened, then was stopped and given a citation and had to have the tint removed! A friend was cited for having no plate at the front, but you can see plenty of cars running around without the front plates. I didn't have one on mine for more than three years, stopped by a cop once for a busted light but he didn't say anything about the missing front plate

In VA

Here you have to have the state-issued lic. plates on the front and back. I don't think you could get away with anything else on the front.
