124 OVP relay - is replacement urgent?

124 OVP relay - is replacement urgent?

my 93 300d has the intermittent symptom of needing a new OVP relay (201 540 3745), ie - ABS light comes on, rough idle, then randomly returns to normal.
Is this something I should do ASAP, or is it the kind of thing that can wait. What would happen if the OVP relay failed altogether?
