I know this is not diesel related, but since it is in a diesel car I thought I might be able to slip it in.
I have the door panel off the drivers window because the window is slow. I thought I might be able to see what the problem is. The sliders were a little dry- I lubed them up. The track is old-sprayed some silicon lube in the tracks. The gears looked dry- applied some fresh lithium grease. The window seems to work a little better, though not much. The window seems to get slow as the glass gets within about four to six inches of the top. I thought there might be some adjustments where I could eliminate a binding condition. I tried moving the vertical post that the regulator slides on. This did not help any. There is a definate point where the window slows, but I can't seem to locate what is causing the slow down. Any ideas frome all you old SD owners out there? Thanks, Doug V.
