So yestderday I noticed there was a hole in the right bottom side of my airbox (after I took airfilter out). I also noticed ther appeared to be a bent hose underneath it. So I took out the airbox and where was indeed a bent pipe coming from the engine manifold. What is the purpose of this tube ? I looked up in FSM (for a pic) and was unable to find anything.

Q1 – Is your car a 1983 300D Turbodiesel,
300SD,
300CDT, or
300TD Turbodiesel?

Again, I am not entirely sure of what you mean by “Airbox” so take a look at this engine external part’s blow-up diagram and see if you can spot the components you are speaking of:
