Does anyone have an idea what the cost runs for replacing the flex pipe on a 300SDL? I just had an aftermarket version put on and was charged over $400 for the part alone....labor was another $120...how reasonable was that,or was it a ripoff??

That pipe is hard to find. I'm not sure what the issue is, but, it's very rare and very costly. I did find one for $160. from the exhaust warehouse, but, it was not bent over mandrel and I returned it.

I still have not replaced it on the '86.

I just gave a flex section away a few months back. If you're desperate, I'm sure I could hack you one off from a boneyard car.

Obviously the 617s are going to be easier than a 603 downpipe
