A/C Prob, again!
Has anyone experienced this?
I replaced the compressor due to a leaking front seal, replaced the dryer, added the good, thick GM type oil. Pumped the system down, then recharged. Thie was last Wednesday evening. All was good, or so it seemed. Drivinh home Friday evening from work, A/C went from cold, to cool, to warm. So I shut it down and finished the drive home. Pop the hood, and low and behold, very little pressure on the system. No oil spots found on the areas I worked on, but under neath...the PO's lovely mechanic spliced the discharge line. There was all my oil, and the hose has a nice popped blister adjacent to the splice clamp. Now I need a new dischage line. Any ideas where to find one? Thanks!

I spoke to Phil, and he suggested that I get the line rebuilt, because of the cost of this line.

Got a pic of the "discharge line"? I got a parts car I'll sell you a hose on the cheap. I have heard that Napa will rebuild any line for about $25.

No, I do not have a pic of it. It is under the car. It connects to the compressor manifold, and to a metal line on the passenger side, next to the engine block. It's the $420 list $368 Phil's price on Fast Lane. Phil's shows it as a suction line with manifold. Mine has threaded connections, but the one Phil has shows crimped connections, where mine is threaded. I think I may be the proud owner of a custom hack job.
I did find a hose rebuilder here locally, so I am going to drop it off tomorrow. I'll post here and update.

Update on the A/C line. I removed the blown line last night, and some water came with it. That means I get buy another dryer to be safe. I just put the new one on with the compressor last week. Danged humidity, but 0 rain!
Anyway, I found a local shop that rebuilt the line today for $20. I'll be picking it up today after work.
