82 300SD passanger's front window...
working fine until going home from church yesterday... rolled it down, ok, on it's way back up, the window makes it about 1-1/2 inches then binds... I sprayed some lithium down there... no change. I figure it got rolled down too far. how do you go about removing the door panel? I only found one screw around the chrome lock area. do you just pry it off?
when I roll it back down, the motor turns freely, and back up, same problem same place. HELP! thanks again for all your wonderfull service on here. John |

It sounds like the window regulator may have broke. You have to be VERY VERY careful removing the door panel the RIGHT way or you will break plastic hook holding tabs off the door panel. It has been too long since I pulled one to tell you all of the procedure. You do take off the door lock button, remove the metal escutcheon around the door latch, remove the plastic cover inside the inside door handle and remove a screw, and remove the arm rest on the door panel. There are some door panel clips to pop back and the door panel has to remove by going straight up as that is where the plastic hook clips come into play.
Maybe someone else can add to the procedure.

thanks motorhead
I will wait on further replies before digging in.
I have a parts car to practice on, so if I break something, hopefully, I will be able to snag off of it. John |
