Suitability of single tank VO system in AZ desert?
Looked at a 300SD with a heated-filter single tank setup today... here in Phoenix, it never gets below freezing and seldom gets below 50F. What I'm wondering is how this deal would work- it has a coolant heat exchanger, but how does that help with starting cold when the coolant is cold? I've never seen a setup like this, the 2 micron filter looked quite substantial and the car ran great on SVO, but I'm curious if this is actually of any usefulness? It would seem that in this climate it might be workable, but I don't know...

well, you must not have lived there long, because i've seen it snow in phoenix.
![]() I have been 1 tanking it all summer in MN, with injecter line heaters. down that way, I think youd be ok if you mixed diesel in the colder months, espcially for those trips up to sho-low to hit the slopes. but thats just my opinion.
