Sorry for your loss. When I first got Married I told my Wife not to leave anything remotely worth any money, looks like it could have something valuable in it (like a closed but empty box with a pic of a Stereo on it) not even change were it could be viewed looking into the Car Windows. I told Her to lock that stuff in the Trunk. Because, I did not want to have to replace a Window. I had to constantly remind Her of this until someone busted out our Neighbors Car Window. Since then She puts stuff in the Trunk or covers it up so it does not invite curiosity. Not much you can do with the Radio. |

it'd be cool to have a 3D radio cover that looks like it's been removed... a 3D image of a hole with wires sticking out... interesting... |

The CD players that came in in every car I've owned have either been dead or dying. Except for the Euro TD, all my Benzes have cassette-radios. Hopefully theives are no longer interested in those. For now, I;m planning to replace the dying Blaupunkt CD-radio in the TD with a Blaupunkt cassette unit that has an input jack so I can plug in any player that can be stashed in the glovebox. As for speaker upgrades, anything decent that can fit under the factory grills. Otherwise, I've had decent results with a pair of compact two-way high-power box-speakers, out of sight on the rear floor. Happy Motoring, Mark |
I just dont leave anything in the car that is worth stealing.

If a camera-flash circuit is too sophisticated, one could rig up a simple auto ignition-coil to a 12-volt buzzer.
Some years back, there was a South-African TV news-clip demonstrating an under-car mounted flamethrower device, designed to automatically incinerate any hoodlums caught tampering with the vehicle! Happy Motoring, Mark |

Last fall, my neighbor hired some guy to enlarge the loft over his garage. The dirtbag found where my neighbor kept the car-keys, stole his rusty 240D, and eventually torched it! Happy Motoring, Mark |
