Which Trans Cooling Hose????
Blew one of my transmission cooling hoses last night on the highway. What a mess!! Tranny stopped working. Fluid all over the underside and left side of the car. Brutal. Many thanks to Kraftwerke for helping me out (Braintree, MA).
Anyway, I see two options for these hoses. One for the 722.315 transmission and one for the 722.416 transmission. My GF has the car today. Any idea which hose? I have a 1985 300Dt California car. ALSO, looks like there is a left one and a right one. Are these hoses interchangeable? It would simply be ok to buy two if I wanted to replace both, right? They are both crumbly. Never want to see this again, and neither does my hungover transmission. |

Both tranny use the same hose and they are interchangeable.

The flexible spring wrapped hose blew or the rigid lines along the engine? Are you sure it wasn't a radiator fitting?
