How Do I Remove this panel?? (pic)

Okay, so I'm deep in it. Getting ready to paint (any day now, or so I keep telling myself).

I'd like to remove this flashing/ cowling to clean it up. I've got the wipers off, the two screws are out, the big nut is off but there are these pesky rubber buttons (see below).

While I've got it off I'd like to feed that blowermotor squirrel a little ATF if i can get a dropper way down in there.

Tips and Tricks??

I know you guys'll come through.

Thanks,
T

Aren't there little spots in the center of those that push in and release them?

If not, I'll have to look on mine. I have done it before buy forgot how.

Your blower motor is mounted under the dash above the passangers feet. The older W115 had a blower motor under the cowling.

Cut them off with a pair of dykes and replace them with new ones. They are plastic and I think you pretty much destroy them when you remove them.

Got it.

As soon as I posted I went back out and had the solution. It clicked that these buttons are just like some of the others on the car and have that nifty mechanism that spreads the barbs.

In fact it was the post that you referred me to, dmorrison, that I was looking for. But I had no luck digging it up. Unfortunately I started vacuuming all of the sanding dust out of the wiper motor area and vanished the pins. Found one later. It should be easy enough to reduplicate.

Thanks for your input.
