Great Italian Tune-Up
Just a quick post of my 'Italian Tune-Up' experience this week...
I got the 350SD up to to 80C and switched over to WVO. I took out for a long drive - drove the complete beltway loop around Las Vegas for a total of about 100 miles in one day (including some other daily driving.) I was averaging about 70-75 mph and the drive took a total of about and hour and twenty minutes... Later that evening I went to a gig and came back to the car after a couple hours. I started the car, let it idle back up to 80C and switched over to WVO, then took off on my way home. I turned a corner onto a good long straight-away and floored it...... A BIG puff of smoke blew out of the exhausts and when I came to the next stop light, the car was idling SO SMOOTH and running like I've never heard it before! It has continued to run soooooo smooth and idles like it really should! Perhaps all that hot grease cooked the CRAP out of the motor!! Just thought I'd share! These cars are fantastic! I'm hooked!
