aux fan mysteriouly started running on my 603

After a long drive (well long for me anyway) from SSF to SF and back i parked the car and watched the rest of the le mans race. After it was over i had to pick up my syster from work so i start the car and hear a humming.

Pop the hood and see the aux fan running But the belt driven fan is working just fine? So i drive it around like this thinking the aux fan would shut off after it has wind hitting it but its still running.

What could be causing this? i dont run the AC only heat in the cold mornings but it was warm yesterday so i didnt use it.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Presumably, one of the switches is closed.

One switch is on the dryer and signals the fan to run at 1/2 speed when the pressure is excessive. Just disconnect the leads to this switch and see if the fan stops.

The other switch is the three pole switch on the top of the thermostat housing. Disconnect the leads to this switch and see if the fan stops.

You may have disconnected the fan itself. That will surely shut it down.
