Unhappy Alternator bracket problem with my 240D.

I have a '74 240d that has a 220D engine in it. My alternator bracket bolts keep breaking (not a lot of fun to fix). The bracket has two bolts in line that bolt to the block. Seems like the alternator is cantilevered on the bracket and I should have one more bolt to make a triangular bolt pattern when bolting the bracket to the block. Does anybody know what the 220d bracket looks like or has anybody had a similar problem?? I have used lock-tight, high strength bolts etc but I think I'm to the point of altering the bracket

HELP!!!!!
