1992 W124 300D Transmission Improvement

Hello,

I've had some really hard shifts from 1st to second for while and I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot the problem yet. I noticed the transmission always shifts better when the car is cold. I noticed this week that the transmission shifts much better all the time when the outside temp is bellow 40 degrees. Does this point to a specific problem?

I already adjusted the vacuum modulator two notches counter clockwise. It helped a little this summer but it moved the shift rpms so I didn't adjust it more.

Any suggestions? My next step is to check vaccum going to the modulator.

Thanks,
Jay
