Are Biodiesel blends exempt from the new Federal ULSD mandate?

I was up in Vermont today and stopped at a Shell Convenient Mart in Brattleboro and filled up with B20. The sticker on the pump...which looked new...said it was a Biodiesel blended with Low Sulfur "highway" Diesel -500ppm sulfur.
Of course the clerks at the cash register had no clue what it was blended with when I asked. Do you think it was an old sticker or does blended Biodiesel not have to comply to the new regs.....a loop hole may be?

I wondered the same thing. The ONE pump here in Las Vegas with B20 is also blended 20%BioDiesel and 80%LSD. The pumps around town at Sinclair stations with B5 are blended 5%Biodiesel and 95%ULSD, though.

Thats interesting! Was the B5 just introduced or had they been pumping it for about the same period of time as the B20?

Same period - however the B5 is available around town at regular Sinclair stations, whereas B20 is ONLY available at ONE pump at one of Haycock Petroleum's commercial filling stations downtown - you have to sign up for a pre-paid card in order to access it, but I had to do some real digging online to find out it even exists and is available because they've made no major public announcements about it!

The city of Las Vegas and Clark County also have a contract with Haycock so all school buses and some city vehicles are running B20 (the school buses are labeled 'Biodiesel' but they don't tell anyone it's just 20% and not 100% biodiesel.) There is even one with a particulate trap - they parade it around at 'green' events and such. The City of Las Vegas has 2 hydrogen-powered vehicles, too.

And not to completely change the subject, but there are now a bunch of Prius taxis here in Las Vegas cruising around with the Chrysler 300 taxis! Can you believe that?!?!?

Now I'm waiting to see the STRETCH Prius limos!!

Wouldn't that be ridiculous?!?!?
