w116 seats

Has anyone ever upgraded manual W116 300SD seats with electric ones or other options?

Would that be an upgrade?

upgrade

By upgrade I meant electric as opposed to manual ajusting seats--or perhaps heated seats also?

My comment was in jest. Since many of us like the 116 for its simplicity.

Overly complicated...

Really, some of the things on the 116 I've replaced with something far simpler and more reliable. Like electric door locks instead of the nightmarish vacuum system (leaks and all). Or the gremlin infested climate control system (another vacuum nightmare).

Newer MBs I have, however have far more comfortable seats with easy electric controls--try adjusting the seat back on the 116 while you're driving....(did I just run over someone or was that my shoulder no longer attached to the rest of my body?) I try to avoid out of body experiences lately. I guess that's aging.

I replaced my seats with some from an 80's Audi 5000...

8 way adjustable heated and electric lumbar.

they fit and actually match the interior fairly well since they are grey and my interior is bown.
