K1 Replacement Question

I'm not sure I'm reading the instructions correctly...

There are a couple of rectangular plates with four screws...we remove the one on the forward driver's side of the transmission, correct?

thanks,

Tim

Thanks, but the link isn't working for me.

If it is one of the K1 threads in the DIY, I've read them. If it is clear in them which plate is removed, I must have missed it.

Can anyone just confirm it is the forward driver's side plate?

Thanks! Looks like I guessed correctly!

That is the plate I removed at about 3PM. What I pulled out looked like the new stuff I had waiting to go in.

I had the classic hard 1-2, badly flaring 2-3 then what amounted to a double shift right into 4th.

I removed the vac line to the trans and all shifts were firm, so I dropped the vac from 17 inches to about 7. The 1-2 was a little harder, but the 2-3 and 3-4 were now good.

After the K-1, I upped the vac to 12 inches and the 1-2 softened a little and the other shifts were still good.

So, I've gone from having to start with the shifter on "3", lifting my foot for the 2-3 and manually shifting to 4th, to driving normally...in a couple hours.

Now looking for an excuse to drive Millie!
