Our 123 Smells like Cheese!

Says our 6 year old daughter... Of course we run biodiesel but that can not be the whole story. The interior really does not smell that bad but does anyone have similar odors?

I have noticed that the 80's MB's have a unique smell that I have never found in other cars. Might be something to do with the Tex they make the seats and door panels with.

I like it. It's kind of like a natural continuous "new car smell".

I don't think it's related to the diesel. I can smell it in the g@ssers too, especially after the body has warmed up in the sun for awhile.

Smells like cheese?..........sounds like that credit card commercial with the bums in the freight car.

A friend of mine is a used car dealer. They use cut up apples to remove the odors in used cars. Evidently, they must give off some kind of gas. He says this has worked for years.

I think it has to do with the materials used in old german car interiors, some old porsches and BMWs have a similar smell.

It's the seat stuffing, AKA horsehair.

thats what my grandpa's 190E smells like. MY 87 300d's smell is hard to descirbe but it just reminds me of an older car.

The 300SD smells like air fresheners, i used so many of them in the car that it has sunk in and smells like pine tree sented air fresheners.
