The mounted one pictured looks like what I have.
I believe a have an extra one around here somewhere... I'll get a shot of it if you need it.

notice the size of the square. its 1-1/4". pretty small but ok for say a small utility trailer. i had a similar one put on my 190d (?) quite a few years ago and pulled a pop up tent trailer with it. it worked good. i had a very good welding shop install it, and they welded it where you would need it welded and it became a light weight equalizer hitch.
this one shown is quite typical for a non-frame vehicle (looks like the one i had on my plymouth mini-van and my rabbit diesel) and would most likely be just bolted to the trunk floor pan and attached with bolts and large flat washers to spread the "load " of the mounting bolt to the good sheetmetal. davidh
