603 Low Oil Level Sending Unit

Hi Guys,
I noticed I was getting a leak from this area the other day, so I picked up a new O Ring for the sending unit, cleaned the mounting surface, lubed the new O ring and installed, only to find that I have only slowed the leak.

It looks like the oil is not leaking from the seal against the pan, but from around the area where the wire plugs in.

If you look (obviously the sender is turned sideways) where the 'lip' is (around 9 or 10 o clock in the pic) that is 6 o clock when the sender is in the pan. Every time I open the hood, theres always a little oil right there on that lip.

The other thing I did notice is that there is an O-Ring around that plug for the wiring. Does oil run against the pigtail too?
Anyone experience this before?

Don't have any personal experience with that sender, but, on the Dodge, once the internal parts of the sender allow oil to leak out of the wires, it's usually time for a new one.

Now, the M/B unit may be more complicated and allow you to rebuild it in some fashion to restore integrity on the inside of the unit.

Take a close look and see if it comes apart in some way??

yeah I did the lift pump on my dodge today. Ugh.
Anyway, EPC does not show it coming apart, a new one is under 50 bucks, so I may just snag one and see if that fixes my issue.

I think I paid about $25 for a new one with both o-rings, fixed my issue. I had a NICE oil leak from it as well as a constantly illuminating error lamp.

Now I wish I'd have that problem instead of a leaking injector on the SDL. x12

Ah yes, I found it! Putting it on my list. I was over at my moms was gonna come by and show you the 124. Guess you were busy
