Previously my '83 300D has had an issue with starting. Sometime it will not start in park (P). I shift to Neutral (N). Play with shifting sometimes more. The car starts after shifting once or twice. From what I read its a common issue from the plastic shift bushings wearing out.

Now the car is exhibiting the same issue but no amount of shifting will help. I've rolled the car some while in neutral to verify its gear. All the electrical works. I checked the fuses. No go.

What else can be done?
