1995 e300 sluggish performance when cold

Engine starts up runs smooth at idle but when I try to accelerate the engine struggles. After warming up the engine 15-20 minutes the car runs perfect. Any thoughts??

The engine will not accelerate and just about stalls, if I let up on the gas and try again it persists. Blue smoke can be seen as though fuel is not being burned?? Could it be the fuel thermostat since it runs fine when warm

Here's the original thread. Sounded to me like an air flow issue when it warms up.

Maybe someone who understands the resonance flaps better than I can assist.
