Set injection pump timing without disconnecting vacuum line
I set my injection pump timing using the drip method but forgot to disconnect the vacuum line to the shutoff valve. I had the throttle wired wide open and did everthing else correctly. I ended up having to move the pump about 2 mm forward to set the timing.
Will I have to set it again since I forgot to disconnect the vacuum line? Scott

The vacuum line goes to the fuel shutoff valve. I imagine the reason for disconnecting it is just to avoid the risk of breaking it while manipulating the pump.

It's so that you will get full fuel while you adjust the timing.
If you had the key turned to the run position while you did the timing, you will be fine. If you had the key off or in the first position, then yes, you will need to redo it. |

If the rack is fully open with the control lever or the pedal, will vacuum on the shutoff pull it back slightly? I'm fairly sure that the shutoff cannot pull it all the way back to the shutoff position, but, it may move it more toward the closed position?? ![]() |

If it moves the rack at all it will affect the settings.
