Trans Fluid/Filter

I finally found the invoice from the PO with transmission details. a flush filter and new fluid in August 2003....overdue for a change? the car had 355,000km on it at the time, now has over 400,000...my fluid level is good my fluid looks and smells good, I have a litre of Lucas trans addative in there. I have the usual flares and shift problems and a bad trans modulator (on the trans)

but 4th gear SLIPS. cruising in 4th at 45kmh, to speed up to 55kmh it slips when I have half or more throttle. When the transmission is cold everything shifts fine , no 4th gear slip. but if I've been driving a while, it slips, does it more so on hills and I have to shift to S to get the transmission to catch again. Intermittant 1st gear take offs.

Again, should I be changing fluid filter at this time or reseal the transmission? I have some external seepage but it looks like a gasket leak.

I NEED a reply to this one guys, because it's getting worse...

You're just about due for a fluid and filter change. You ought to be changing the fluid and filter every 48,000 km. If you do lots of city driving, you should change the fluid and filter every 24,000 km.
