If you have a 1985 300D, then it would either be cream or date (whatever color date is) from the information I have. 155 is the EPC code for cream. Check the stamped number plate under the hood on the radiator support. If it is original and present, I bet 725, 727, or 730 will be on there somewhere.

Hi KCM, I just looked this stamped plate under the hoo and I see 155 but no 725, 727 nor 730. So, 155 is cream, I mean just the regular or ordinary Cream and not Cream-Beige. What does EPC stands for?

Do you have pics of the car's interior in the sun? The flash will give you different results.

ok guys again,

There is no such thing as Palomino. That is not a color option from MB.
And those seat are Cream.

154 and 254 will appear as "Tobacco" in VIN verification.

Palomino

My original window sticker says "Palomino", an '87. My '91 also was ordered with Palomino. The Russian VIN information is flawed, I can see several differences between my cars' original configurations and the Russian site, not sure why but that's the case.

As far as Palomino existing, it does according to MBUSA. It shows on both of my cars as "Saffron" in the Russian site, so it is possible that our Palomino was called Saffron in Russia, and possibly in Germany et al also.

Now regarding Palomino being "pinkish tan", this is not at all true. I have had three Palomino interiors, one a '91 with leather (new), the other two '87 MB-Tex. Palomino is a rich golden-tan color from the factory, and can fade to "pinkish-tan" with enough sun exposure. In the case of my '87s, the 300Dt is pinkish-tan faded, spent much of its time outdoors, the 190Dt is a rich original golden-tan from being garaged and not outdoors. So IMO to say all older 'Benzes with Palomino will be "pinkish-tan" is not accurate, depends on its care and environment.

Here's a shot this morning as MBeige requested.
I don't know why but for some reason, it appears to be lighter compared from last night's shot. You'll also notice that it is lighter than the door panel at the background, but believe it or not they are all exactly the same color. That's why I really need to know whether it is Cream or Cream-Beige because I only wanted to change the driver side bottom cushion cover which is already bad and still match the rest. I can't afford to buy the whole kit for the entire interior to match everything.

Mine is 155, what is 155? According to MBeige'ssample, 155 is Beige. But according to KCM's info out of the EPC code, 155 translates to Cream? Therefore, it's got to be between Cream and Beige, but which one of the two? After I saw MBeige's sample, now I'm starting to believe that it's a Beige for the reason that it says available on 300Ds...and I have the 155 code on the stamped metal plate under the hood but still half of me is saying that mine is a Cream which becuase of age, dirts and stains, after 20+years, became to look like a Cream-Beige. I don't know, I can't decide. I just hate to order the wrong part and then send it back at my expense and then order another one again...blah...blah....

Not sure how accurate the colors might be but, how about printing the samples above and see which one is the close match.

I guess we have the same problem with cream/beige that we have with palomino/tobacco.

If the code source says 155 Beige, then the color is beige (cream is probably the USA only name to make it look fancier).

Again the code from factory that corresponds to Palomino is Tobacco. There is no Palomino from MB. Now MBusa has probalby decided that cream and palomino were better names... but that does prevent the fact that MBinternational catalogs just don't have these names for code 154 and 155.

Tell me you didn't look at the post above, which clearly shows Palomino as an MB Tex color. As soon as I find my 85 factory brochure, it will show Palomino as a color as well.

In fact, I have my metal data tag, and build card for my 82, and they both have interior color as 134, which is Palomino. Check my vehicle on here, and you'll see it's not the infamous Pinkomino, but the real Palomino.

You may want to take to an auto upholsery guy, who might have a board with the MB samples on it. He could probably match it right there.

yep,and if you read the post above your it is explained that that is a color name given by MBUSA, which real name is Tobacco!

EPC stands for the Electronic Parts Catalog, the official Mercedes-Benz parts catalog. Here is some other reference information for the MB Tex (Imitation Leather) colors on the W123 300D:

Code 103, Tobacco, up to 9/79
Code 104, Bamboo, up to 9/79
Code 105, Parchment, up to 9/79
Code 134, Date, 9/79 to end of 1982
Code 135, Cream, 9/79 to end of 1982
Code 136, Olive, 9/79 to end of 1982
Code 154, Date, 1983 to 1985
Code 155, Cream, 1983 to 1985
Code 156, Olive, 1983 to 1985

Don't see a reference to a Parchment or Beige for the W123, but see a Bamboo for leather.

From the numbers, I would say codes 104, 134, and 154 were variations of the same color, and 105, 135, and 155 are variations of a different color. I would say you are safe to say you have Cream interior pertaining to the 1983 to 1985 years of the W123, but it may not be an identical color to earlier models. Other body styles might have used different names for the colors, or different variations of the color. I would say what it says in the EPC is gospel.
