Man you would have to be one sick and twisted German to make an ambulance out of a 220d. The people they had to pick up could have gotten to the hospital faster by hitch hiking.

ambulance?

I don't think it was an ambulance. Look at the seating. It's some kind of limo or "pope mobile" IMHO. It's on ebay now.

Looks like Craiglist pulled the plug on it.

Was it supposed to be in Austin?

Flea Bay ad sez it's in Bezerkly.

It's in southern Cali, that's why it was flagged down.

It was also listed in the Denver CL.

Looks like its got 15" rims and beefed up suspension common with Euro emergency vehicle ambulance conversions from that era. One helluva potential roadtrip camper car, says me.

When I first saw the listing I just assumed it was Austin, but after I posted the link here I noticed it said Oakland at the bottom. Those pics didn't look like Austin either.

Oh well, guess the dude is having a tough time selling it and so he's spamming all the MB diesel fanatic markets.

At least it has a 240D engine in it instead of the original.

Yep, probably is a pretty cool and unusual vehicle, but I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole due to an obviously flaky seller.

That's for the new upcoming movie
"Ghostbusters 4", they dump the 59 Caddy and use this beast, powered by WVO to attack the ghosts of evil CEOs who once owned oil companies.
