i cant find a trailer hitch. u haul only has cat.1 and i need a 2. so im going to build my own. i see the 3 bolts on each side rear. what i cant tell is how it hooks to body on the side of car. all adv appreicated. Bobco se.ks.

I have a heavy duty hitch on my 81 SD it appears to have been built by a welding shop as is very neatly done ,I will look at it tomorrow and see how it's attached I know that it goes forward far enough to block the filler plug for the differential I had to grind a special tool to get the top filler plug out when I had the differential flushed and refilled I sold the tool to the lube shop doing the work....

The hitch I have on my '80 300SD is bolted to the bottom of the thick metal bracket behind the bumper and to the sheet metal that surrounds the spare tire. It was a professional installation and works good.
