i have a stated value policy through hagerty and its been wonderful so far and its super affordable but they do place some restrictions on the car such as it must be kept in a garage at night and it can't be your daily driver neither of which is a problem for me since the car was my grandmother's and only has 121k and i want to keep it forever and don't want to rack up the miles on it

We have full coverage on our 1987 300D and like to believe it will make a difference if the car is ever lost in an accident....

Of course it will make a difference. The question is whether it makes enough of a difference to justify the cost. In cases where an older car is worth a lot more to the owner than it is to anyone else, ACV collision coverage is probably not cost effective.
