Trailer Hitch questions on a 126

Ive done a bunch of searches, but I havent exactly found what I'm looking for. Can anyone provide a link to somplace where I can purchase a decent 126 receiver? I've see the Curt models, but cant find a place to purchase them. Is it easier for me to just buy (or find) a standard class 1 receiver and modify it myself?. Also, as far wiring for trailer lights what what is involved? Thanks everyones help.

Try D'lan (sp?). They carry a receiver for the TD so I bet they have one for the 126. Not cheap.

lights are real simple with the right gimic
a wire rapping clip with a little prog to go thru the existing wire
for brake, running tail, or turn ,
most lite sets allow you to pick two not all three
looks a little like a split ''T''
no need to cut or splice they just snap in place
with a plug to joint to the trailer plug

now anyone got a pic of a proper 126 trailer recever/hitch
as to where the pro's think they should be mounted???
I trash picked a fairly flat bar type recever but will need to extend it a little
to fit my 126 300sd 83

I was spoiled by Volvo's they all have built in mount points
pre threaded even and hitch/recevers are common and cheap
and others cars/trucks units even are not hard to bolt up to the mount points
I had a class 5 unit from a econline on my 740 wagon
Northern [china] tool switched brands and dumped the old brands
recevers for about scrap value

These people: http://www.etrailer.com/fitguide.htm often have multiple choices but are showing only the Curt for that car.

not cheap well I am!!!

not cheap well I am!!!
thats why I plan to make my trash found recever fit
besides what fun or challenge is there in mounting a correct bit
when you can fight with a bit of junk instead

does that mount to the bumper in addition to the trunk floor??

search on Google
I found a 1.25" reciever in a Tenn wrecking yard, $40; the bar + ball for $18 on eBay
bolts to bumper and spare well, towed a 2300# popup trailer w/o problems
19 mpg @ 65

I think that car has a light bulb monitor, just splicing will probably activate it!
