Unhappy 1983 300 sd turbo question

being a new commer to the world of MB ownership, i have questions galore?

what is the number designation for the 5 cyl eng?
i think from what i have read in the last 5 days it is a 126 chassey? am i correct?

Would like to hear from others that own this model and year as to some of the things that might plegue this year and model.

Car seems to be a dream. Inhearated it from a family member, and in the last 3 days the passenger front and driver rear window stoped working."According to a wireing diagram i found in the forums, it ie a fuse " "Question Why are the windows kiddi corner on opposite fuses?"

Today Passenger rear window went down and disconnected from rail?
Think i found info on door Panel Removal and Arm fix? We will see in the morning

In short i would like to find someone who ownes one of thease that might be able to tell me the strengths and weaknesses of the car.

Fuel sending unit probably needs cleaning, Stuch at 3/4 tank

Antenna Stuck

Radio needs replacement found good post for replacement and wireing help

Thanks in advance for any help or insight ppl could offer

The chassis is a 126.120 and the motor is a 617.951.

Why not have the windows fused cross-wise. Atleast if you blow a fuse one window on each side can still work.

The rear window regulator foot is available separately.

Broke things on a 24 year old car.... hard to imagine.

Ahhhh Proud Ownership

Well i found the blown fuse and figured id replace em all because well yea it is a 24 yr old car i guess im just use to american. "fuse blws and you loose em all"

Managed t get the right rear window working again stop gap measure wise. the slider cracked in half."24 yr old nylon also:

I ordered 4 sliders since they are easy to replace when you get your hands into it, but for the time being i used a nylon roller for a sliding door. Works till the real one comes in.

Thanks for the help with the chassee and engine.

i think ill be reading quite a bit more so i can learn about this car, but i have appreciated the craftsmanship they put into the older ones
