Reaction Valve Pin 722.418 Transmission

722.418 Transmission. Need to replace reaction valve seals (two O-rings). Fairly simple procedue (according to several on this forum) for someone who knows what he's doing (not me).

My concern is the possibility of losing the pin that goes into the B-1 band and then having to remove the pan, valve cover (?), etc... That would involve considerably more labor...and expense. In fact, MB's recommended procedure (which the dealer follows) prices accordingly (3 hours labor). I'm going to have my indie do it...but I'm afraid of his losing the pin inside the transmission.

Any thoughts as to the odds?
