Hi, can older mercedes diesels with autmatic transmissions be tow started?

I don't have any pic's as of yet, striagh body, great interior - I had someone who said they were a mech - adjust the injector timming and somthing else they said they did as a favor - I drove it home and it has not started on it own you need to tow it and it starts- it an automatic we placed in a 300 series about 6 months before the adjustment happened - yes mercedes is one of the only cars that you can start by towing. this is the first year that this vechile hit the shores of the USA.
