Hi everyone
New MB owner (2 mo.) coming up my driveway -step hill I lost power.
Shifted down to 3rd started to move then failed,shifted to 2nd had power to get me up hill and park.
This AM checked fluid ,its good & no leaks.
Started and moved in drive on flat ground but started up slight hill and lost power ,downshift started to move again but failed ,downshift to 2nd power to move up hill and park.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Mech has no idea of problem...WTF but says to be ready for about $3000 in repairs.Ive looked at parts but nothing is that expensive.Seems like a shark in the water and Im the one bleeding or is it true???$3000

Does the fluid smell burnt? What color is it? Also when was the lasttime the fluid and filter were changed?

I am going to assume you just aquired your SDL. How does the transmission fluid level look? When was the last time the transmission was services? Just the basic questions first.
