Engine swap 300cd

I decided to repair my 300CD, the Chevy Suburban is eating my wallet, now I'm looking for a good used engine. If I go for a Turbo engine (mine is a '79), is it possible to replace the heating/ air condition system as well, do a complete swap?

Possible, but not easy. Why not just buy an electronic CCU?

There are some other differences between the turbo and non-turbo cars that you will need to deal with. Radiator, expansion tank, exaust and transmission/tork converter, to start out with. It is posible, but it might be a bit more envolved then you think.

All those will bolt on and don't need to be swapped over (but should).

I knew about the radiator but do I have to replace the transmission as well? In that case I will likely stay with a non turbo engine.

No, you don't. It will hold up fine.

There is one member here using a 240D automatic on his turbo engine.

if you are going to do it do it right.

get a second car and switch over everything that is different. especially the rear end. a running parts car with cosmetic issues should be available for less than a thousand.
