Heat Shield - Important ? Necessary ?
Replaced my motor mounts today, but unable to fit in the heat shields because I didn't do my homework and read the forums beforehand to tell me I needed to unbolt the center mount to get more clearance. So my question is-- anybody know from experience that these are actually important?

They are more of a drip shield than a heat shield. Be careful not to drip diesel and oil on the rubber and expect them to not last as long.
I forgot to put mine on too.

Yeah, I kinda figured that with the mounts so cheap, I will just save the shields for next time instead of ripping it all apart again.
