"Phantom" Turn Signal Operation
My wife reported a regular clicking noise coming for underneath the dash. It was intermmitent in nature - it would come and go. It was not dependent on temperature or on how long the car had been running.
I finally traced it to the electronic flasher for the turn signal/4-way flasher. Without the turn signal being actuated or the 4-way flasher being actuated, the flasher would click at random times. I replaced the flasher, but still have the problem. I wonder if the turn signal switch could have a high resistance leakage path that could be just enough to load the flasher down enough to cause it to flash. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I don't know if a bad turn-signal bulb connection could cause this, or a bad ground at the lights, but would start there.
