1980-300SD-W116 Expansion valve?

I bought Diesel guy's DVD on A/C repair, he did a good job, but my 116's expansion valve is not where his 123's is.

Could someone point me in the right direction, I think it might be in the consol by the accelerator pedal?

Also, the pictures for the 1980 300SD expansion valve in the catalog looks completely different than the one in the diesel guy's DVD. The one in the catalog looks like a water facet with 2 wires sticking out of it, is this what the 116's expansion valve looks like? Any advise on changing this particular valve? Does it have o-rings like the newer ones?

Thank you the help.

here is a picture of the 116 chassis expansion valve, it is located above the drivers knee area behind the instrument cluster, it does not have o-rings, but it may have conical shaped crush type washers
