Welcome to the forum.

We've heard it........about 1000X.

Any chance you own a Mityvac? You either have a vacuum leak and one of the hoses is not connected.........or the shutoff diaphragm.........or the ignition switch.........has failed.

Did you have an oil change? Did you change the filter? You probably, accidentally pilled some vacuum connection in that area. Take a good look and reconnect if 1 or so vacuum hose was disconnected.

inventor,

A Mityvac is a tool that applies a vacuum via a hand pump and has a gage to read the vacuum. Very handy tool. Can also be used to bleed brakes.

Its available at Harbor Freight and other places.

inventor, if you look at the engine, the IP is the big metal part with all the metal lines going up to the motor. on the very back of it, there should be a brown plastic line going into it. pull the plastic line out and see if there is oil in it. if so, your diaphram has failed and it is pulling motor oil into the vacuum system. if it is dry, follow the line up to the firewall, through that it goes under your dash to the ignition switch. out of the switch another line goes back to the large vacuum system of the pump. connected to that line are tees with other lines going to transmission, egr system, and brakes etc... look for any deteriorated tees, disconnected lines etc. fix whatever you find bad. if nothing is broken or disconnected, you may have a bad vacuum pump itself. you will need a vacuum gauge, or mityvac to trace the problem.

vstech,

The lines going out of the IP do NOT goto the motor, they goto the injectors that are located in the head. Wires and cables goto the motor (starter).

PS: Have U discovered capital letters yet? They are usually used at the beginning of a sentence or paragraph.

Now, Paul, you very well know that the thing in the middle of the bay beneath the hood is an engine. It does have a starter motor attached to it.

The U is especially attractive.........typically utilized by persons of the age of 18 years who have not mastered the art of writing.........

Looking at it from a Language Arts persepctive, I'm guessing English is not inventor's first language.
