Hi everyone,
I recently reported that I had this semi-loud droning noise coming from my 1983 300D Turbo that never used to be there. Someone mentioned that it could be the drive shaft supports. Thinking out loud, could it possibly be bad bearings in the wheels? The noice only changes it's volume and pitch with car speed, not engine speed (ie. if I put the trans in neutral while coasting, the noise is unaffected). Some added info that might help you: the car has 115,000 miles on it and has recently had much of the front end suspension rebuilt. Thanks a lot Alex
