I stare, head sideways, at leon's tachometer-- It's hard to figure out the time whenever the clock only has the one hand

When I get into my girlfriends Saturn Vue I'm always waiting for the orange light to go out before starting.

I have the opposite problem. My 240D has a standard 4-speed transmission. I keep wanting to shift up to that fifth overdrive gear. I usually hit fourth gear at about 40mph. The engine keeps on winding up and I reach for another gear but it ain't there.

When I get into my daughter's Toyota Camry, I turn the key and wait for the glow plug light to go off. There is no glow plug light.

I drove my moms equinox..

The steering wheel is too small, the blind spots can be counted on two hands, the throttle is tooo repsonsive, the seat is too hard, and.. I waited for the glow plugs..

I love the visibility in the 123 body MB's. The seats OTOH are not what I would call comfortable though sheepskins take care of that.

With me it's the pedal difference that gets me. I use all the pedal range in my 300cd all the time (floored). Then I go to a 260 horsepower turbo Saab and I floor it!

When I drive my 230CE I don't have the problem of needing to put the pedal to the metal. I did try driving it like I did my diesel at the time and got a pleasant surprise as well. It's a stick so It'll burn rubber with no problem but by no means like the SAAB.

From the time I was two until I was about 13, we owned a 1980 240D. Whenever I got into someone else's car, I never tried to unlock the passenger doors for fear of wrecking the vacuum-actuated power lock system.
