throttle coupler install, not on straight???

I bought one of those throttle couplers, that mounts on the firewall, to replace the crumbling one that looked original to my car. It connects the throttle linkage to the go pedal basically. Took it off no problem, but when I put the new one on, it went on kinda cock-eyed. I didn't notice on the old one when I took it off, but the new one is not on straight. Maybe 15-20 degrees tilt from being straight to the firewall. Can someone look at theirs and tell me if theres looks the same?

It feels great and after I cranked the car it appeared to work just fine.???

Mine is perpendicular to the rod, not the fire wall.

Yes slightly angled towards the center of the engine.

Same with mine. The mount on the firewall has a ball and socket joint so the angle is no problem for it.

The mount to the firewall is parallel (relatively) and the linkage went in with a slight angle (perperdicular, but a little off 20 degrees or so).

It works great, it just looks wrong....

not real difficult

My go pedal was very "loose" Didn't engage for the first inch or two. Now it is tight, and I am very happy I changed it.

It was hard to get to one of the bolts because of the coolant hose that runs along the top of the firewall. I had to take it loose to have room to get to that bolt. Other than that it was about a 10 minute job. The part was like $45. BUt again I was very satisfied. My old one was crumbling, like a wax candle....
