Anyone find a *cheap* alternative for injector return lines?

Anyone? Bueller?

Nope. You could try attaching those crazy straws so you can see the fuel twist and turn, like the lids like to do with thier sodas, or you can try the flex straws. Just a cheap idea...

Cheap alternative? How cheap.

It seems to me I bought a meter of the rubber/cloth type this spring sometime and though not free the price was certainly very low, I think less then $5.00. And a meter of the stuff will go a long ways on two old 300 D's and I even gave some to my buddy Bajaman. It will probably last me many years.

I use polyurathane tubing for my return lines. It has lasted longer than the braided MB lines and it is almost clear.

um, a meter will not go a long way on TWO 5 cylinder motors... I think you need slightly more than one meter to replace all the lines on the injectors on ONE motor.

As I recall, I replaced all the return lines on my 617 with one meter of hose. How much cheaper could it be than the OEM hose? I think I only paid about $10 or $15 at the dealer.

I was able to buy cloth-wrapped viton hose for a bit less than $3/foot, and replaced all the return lines on my six-cylinder with about 42" of the stuff. On a Benz, that definitely qualifies as cheap in my book, but I'm not sure what your standard is. Plus, I've got some tubing now that ought to last a long time, even running B99.

Cheers, John

Still Cheap

I think I did buy 2 meters of the stuff, did one car, gave some away, I think I have enough for the other car. Really not expensive anyway.

Just get the right stuff. It's not *that* expensive and it will last you two or more years.
